Objectives
Preparing the dissertation implies the student’s enrollment in a research and development project of medium/large dimensions. This enrollment allows students to:
- Deepen the knowledge obtained during their enrollment in the master’s degree
- Characterise the problem being tackled, and then design a methodology to approach overcome the challenges of the problem
- Develop competencies to perform autonomous research in Computer Engineering and Sciences
- Develop autonomy, responsibility and teamwork skills In the end of the dissertation, the student must write and publically present a written document, promoting the development of soft skills, such as synthesis and oral/written communication.
Program
There is no predefined programme as this is an individual piece of work. The students start with the plan of a research or development project to be carried out in a business or academic environment.
Bibliography
Given the nature of this curricular unit, there is no reference book. The specific bibliography will depend on the student’s work. It must include articles and scientific journals in the research area.
